Why INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION disassociated from Anna Hazare - PART 1 of 20

IAC SERIES: The reasons why INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION disassociated from Anna Hazare. PART 1 of 20.

Anna Hazare's Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andolan Trust was fully exposed by conclusions of Supreme Court Judge - P.B. Sawant - as an anti-social goonda force. Incidentally the Sawant Committee was constituted on Hazare's own complaint.

" ... (xxii) Some of the workers in the Andolan were abusing the platform of the Andolan for anti-social activities, such as extortion of money, blackmailing, grabbing the properties of others, harassment, goondaism, corruption etc. Although Shri Hajare denied that some of them were his workers, he could not deny that the others at least were his own workers. These acts on their part were clearly criminal.

When the complaints were made against some of them, Shri Hajare did not care to investigate them, and when he did inquire into some of them, he only had his own workers without calling the complainants for the inquiry. This was unjust and irregular and amounted to patent maladministration of the andolan. It only shows that he did not take care to keep control over the anti-social forces, which his Andolan had released

Split in Anna Hazare's team becomes visible

Followers of Anna Hazare were shocked to see a rift in his anti-graft movement during Jantantra Yatra. Some believe that Anna is being misguided by his coterie, while others see it as an attempt of sabotaging the Anna movement by vested interests. The local organizers of Anna's Jantantra Yatra distanced themselves from his movement and demanded hisab for donations Anna raised.

Rift in Anna Hazare's camp becomes visible during Jantantra Yatra in Varanasi

VARANASI: It was really shocking for the followers of anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare to see a rift in the anti-graft movement during Jantantra Yatra in the holy city of Varanasi. Some believe that Anna is being misguided by his coterie, while others see it as an attempt of sabotaging the Anna movement by vested interests. The local organizers of Anna's Jantantra Yatra distanced themselves from his movement.

The rift surfaced and deepened further when Anna questioned the credentials of the local organizers of Jantantra Yatra. While Anna accused the local organizers of deceiving him and collecting chanda (donations) in his name without taking any permission, the organizers on the other hand also demanded hisab' (details of expenses) from Anna.

Slogans like Hisab do, hisab lo' and Inqlab Zindabad' were raised by a group of furious organizers and supporters, when Anna along with the retired army chief general VK Singh was leaving for Azamgarh from Paradkar Bhawan after attending the press program on Wednesday. They also wanted an apology from Anna for his remarks.

The row began on Tuesday evening when Anna in his concluding remarks at a public meeting organized in Bharat Mata Mandir premises said, "I am sad to know that some people are collecting donation on my behalf. Do not collect money in the name of Anna." Anna did not use the stage, but he addressed the gathering from the roof of a van. He, however, used the sound system arranged by local organizers. Being hurt by Anna's remarks, the organizers went to meet him at the circuit house on Tuesday night. Again on Wednesday they went to meet Anna to clarify their stand and give details of expenses.

"But Anna was not ready to listen to anything," said Ramdheeraj Bhai, one of the organizers. He, along with the other members of the organizing committee and supporters also went to Paradkar Bhawan where Anna was invited for the press program on Wednesday. But, they failed to put their points and clarifications before him. "In such a situation we cannot be part of Anna's movement. Some people around him are misguiding Anna," said Ramdheeraj.

When asked about the row during the press program, Anna said that the organizers should take permission before collecting donations and also before using his photograph on the receipt. "This is the corrupt practice against which we are fighting, and I never associate myself with such people," he said, adding that the address of the office (Sarva Sewa Sangh, Rajghat) mentioned in the receipt and the websites (www.joinannahazare.org.in, and www.jantantramorcha.org) mentioned in press note were wrong. Replying a query regarding a split in his team, he said, "It is true that the team got fractured, but at the same time the response from common people has been increasing."

"How can Anna say that he does not know Sarva Sewa Sangh where he made visits on several occasions," asked Ramdheeraj, who looks after the sangh. "The local organizers have not done anything wrong by collecting donation, and everything is in black and white," he said, and distributed the copies of income and expenditure of the Jantantra Yatra program among media persons. According to the details, they collected a fund of Rs 29,500 through donations while the expenditure was Rs 94,252.

"If we were wrong why Anna attended the program organized by us," he questioned, adding that Anna should also make his expenses of yatra and source of income public.

There is no way but to collect donation for holding public meetings and meeting other related expenses, said the convener Satya Prakash. One of the staunch followers of Anna on the condition of anonymity said, "Anna is innocent, but he is being misinformed and misguided by some people. It is really unfortunate."

Women’s rights activists from across the country have expressed shock over anti-corruption crusader and social activist Anna Hazare’s decision to campaign for the Trinamool Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Women’s groups shocked over Anna support to Mamata

“We are shocked that you have chosen to express support to and solidarity with the Chief Minister of West Bengal who, in three years, has transformed West Bengal from being the safest State for women to the most unsafe,’’ the women’s groups have said in a joint letter to Mr. Hazare.

Women’s rights activists from across the country have expressed shock over anti-corruption crusader and social activist Anna Hazare’s decision to campaign for the Trinamool Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

“We are shocked that you have chosen to express support to and solidarity with the Chief Minister of West Bengal who, in three years, has transformed West Bengal from being the safest State for women to the most unsafe,’’ the women’s groups have said in a joint letter to Mr. Hazare.

“From small satyagrahas in Maharashtra to the huge mobilisations in Delhi, you have stressed on the need to cleanse Indian politics and expressed your anguish over the violence that women and young girls are subjected to. It is not just the fact that the most barbaric forms of violence are being suffered by women and girls in the State but the fact that in many cases, leaders and activists of the ruling party are involved and often the reaction of the Chief Minister has been insensitive, critical of the victim and not reflective of any intention of punishing the perpetrators,” the letter claimed. “We hope that you will reconsider your decision,” it said.

The letter was signed by Jan Jagmati Sangwan (All Indian Democratic Women’s Association), Kavita Krishnan (All India Progressive Women Association) Annie Raja (National Federation of Indian Women), Jayati Ghosh (Jawaharlal Nehru University), Leila Passaah (Young Women’s Christian Association) and Prof. Mritunjoy Mohanty of IIM-Kolkata among others.

New Delhi, Nov. 14, 2014 Why Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal parted ways two years ago has remained a mystery. One probable reason could be a blunder by the Prime Minister’s Office during UPA II rule.

17-July-2012 Union Law and Justice & Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid held a secret meeting with anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare in Nashik on June 23. The meeting was reportedly organised by a Shiv Sena MP at Firodia Guest House on the Pune-Nashik Highway.

Hazare while addressing a press conference with Baba Ramdev in Pune on Tuesday did not deny meeting Khurshid. "I will talk about it at the right time. A fight about it is going to begin," replied Hazare when he was asked if he had met Khurshid on June 23.

Sources say Khurshid and his wife Louise Khurshid travelled to Nashik to meet Anna and request him to remove Khurshid's name from the list of corrupt ministers released by Hazare and his associates.

After a secret meeting between Hazare and then foreign minister Salman Khurshid, the PMO had apparently sent a letter meant for Hazare to Kejriwal’s home by mistake.

Hazare had indeed given that address for communication but the PMO seemed not to have realised that a secret letter should be delivered to Hazare directly at his village.

Sources aware of the goof-up revealed that Kejriwal got suspicious as Hazare was not supposed to receive any letter from the PMO.

They said he opened it to discover that his mentor had struck a pact with the Congress. The letter mentioned Hazare’s hush-hush meeting with Khurshid in Pune and thanked him for his willingness to campaign for the Congress in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

A furious Kejriwal revealed Khurshid’s secret mission before the media and accused the Manmohan Singh government of trying to drive a wedge between him and Hazare.

Life under one man’s diktat rankles with Ralegan youth

JAIDEEP HARDIKAR IN RALEGAN SIDDHI

While Ralegan Siddhi holds Anna as a virtual deity, many among the younger generation here feel it’s time they began to come out of his shadow.

It isn’t that the villagers don’t respect him, but some of them feel it is detrimental in the long run that one man decides what is good or bad for them. The days of he-says-we-follow are over.

While the regard for the man credited with its transformation from the days of poverty and drought is still intact, young villagers, barring those associated with his anti-corruption campaign, have begun to dismantle the belief system on which the Ralegan Siddhi model stood.

Three decades ago, the village had rallied behind Anna believing he was a saviour and could never err.

Till 2000 Ralegan had had no time for elections: the villagers would simply accept Anna’s choice for sarpanch and the executive. The sarpanch would always be from one of the three most dominant families — the Pathares, the Maparis and the Awatis — all Marathas.

One hears stories that Anna would flog drunkards, prescribe vegetarianism, or ask people to stay away from films that he thought might be a bad influence. It was true in part but all that’s history, says Mapari Sr.

“We don’t have liquor shops but people do go outside the village to drink. Even in the past, prohibition was never total.”

Some also eat meat from time to time. But Ralegan still follows certain social norms it had set for itself in the 1970s after severe droughts. Like most villages around it, Ralegan is dominated by Marathas. Most households are small farmers with barely one to two hectares of landholdings; a handful has more than five hectares.

In the village of 2,317 (about 430 households), the Dalits and tribals together number just about 200. More than 50 of Ralegan’s youths, including Anna’s nephew, are in the army; several others hold government or private jobs elsewhere.

This inequalities reppurcussions were felt elsewhere. On August 24 2011, Indian dalits (members of the 'untouchables' caste), demonstrated against Anna Hazare at India Gate in New Delhi. Some 8,000 dalits rallied to protest against what they see as the elitist anti-graft campaign of fasting activist Anna Hazare. Dalit activists have challenged Hazare's campaign on several fronts, saying his efforts to force parliament into adopting stronger anti-corruption legislation poses a challenge to the Indian constitution

Is Anna Hazare anti-national ?

Is Anna Hazare anti-national ?

Is Anna Hazare another anti-national traitor who wants to cede J&K to Pakistan and China ?.

Many people believe that Anna Hazare is not a patriotic Gandhian, but is actually an anti-national closely associated with RSS.

The answer to the question is evident from the foreign financed traitors Anna Hazare associates with.

On 5-April 2011, the IAC HQ formally complained to the Delhi Police about the anti-national and seditionist activities of Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi, who on 5-April-2011 had participated in a motor cavalcade draping the Indian Tricolor in a disrespectful manner in a vehicle displaying a map with incorrect boundaries of India, ie. ceding the Aksai Chin to China and other parts of India to Pakistan.

On 7th-April 2011 the Special Commissioner of Police, (Vigilance) Delhi Police took cognisance of the IAC HQ’s complaint of the anti-national activities by Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi which took place in full view of Delhi Police officers without their arrest (Dr. Kiran Bedi is a retired senior Police officer) and began a vigilance enquiry under the Joint Commissioner (Vigilance) of Delhi Police.

Photo evidence was gathered by IAC co-founder and General Secretary Mr. Veeresh Malik.

"If you try to break my nation we will break your head" - Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena -

It is pertinent to mention that Mr. Anna Haazre was travelling that day in a vehicle provided by an RSS worker from Mundka. All the organisations associated with Anna Hazare's arrangements that day in Delhi are foreign financed anti-national bodies who publicly declare they support ceding J&K state to India's enemies through repealing special laws, withdrawing police and army.
